" it is a great date in the history of the struggle against colonialism and French imperialism, an example for all the peoples of the world. Vietnamese and Vietnamese have given an example of the way to free themselves from colonialism. 

Any people can come to the end of an occupying power, as powerful as it is. On condition that it is determined and organised, provided that it has clear political objectives, on conditions to be prepared for a long-term struggle. 

It's because the communists took their heads that this war of liberation was victorious."
